- Cidef, the French inter-professional turkey committee, was established in 1974 following an agreement between the four main partners in the turkey sector : breeding and hatching, animal nutrition, farms, and slaughterhouses and cutting plants. it fulfils its role as a body for consultation and action on behalf of the sector. officially recognised, it acts as the spokesperson for professionals in the sector in dealings with the public authorities.
