3 questions for Didier Lucas
For this first edition of our new “3 Questions to” feature, we’re giving the floor to Didier Lucas, President of SPACE.

Didier Lucas, we understand that the preparation of the next edition is taking place in a particularly complex context. What can you tell us about it?

Indeed, the partners decided to conduct a comprehensive audit to obtain an overall view of the exhibition. The objective was to anticipate the needs of exhibitors and farmers, and to help secure a stable and sustainable future in a context that is becoming increasingly challenging across all sectors of activity. This process led to several consequences.

The launch of the 2026 edition experienced an initial slowdown, also impacted by the transition to a new online registration system. In terms of staffing, new expertise has been brought in over recent weeks, and the initial delay has gradually been recovered.

So it is confirmed that SPACE 2026 will go ahead?

Absolutely. It will take place as planned! This will be the 40th edition, and exhibitors are responding positively (with 84% already registered). We are currently finalising arrangements with our long-standing partners, and our international promotional campaigns are being rolled out. Innov’Space will once again provide exhibitors with an opportunity to showcase innovations tailored to the animal farming sector, while the “Espace for the Future” will remain a key forum for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and education within the agricultural community.

What does SPACE represent for the agricultural sector?

SPACE is the international exhibition dedicated to animal farming. It is a major gathering for agriculture in western France and across the entire country. It is also an event designed for both French and international professionals, a place for exchange, dialogue, and business opportunities. Ultimately, the fact that SPACE is preparing to celebrate its 40th edition demonstrates that its value and indeed its necessity, have remained constant over the years.

See you at SPACE 2026, from September 15 to 17!
