Information

The Salers Race is in the spotlight this year and will organize a National Challenge.

Originating from the Massif Central, the Salers is an iconic breed known for its curly mahogany coat and long, lyre-shaped horns. With 210,000 cows, it is the 4th largest French beef breed. Hardy, it thrives on difficult terrain and in climates that can have large temperature variations. Its adaptability, its independence at calving, and its diet, which emphasizes roughage and grass, make it an easy-to-manage, self-sufficient, and profitable breed. Its good milk production also makes it the best mother and allows it to nurse its calf with little or no supplementation.

Its products - meat and cheese - express all the know-how of grass-based systems, and meet the quality requirements of consumers.

She will have the honors of the ring on Tuesday, September 16 from 1:30 p.m. with 64 cows in competition from the Grand-Ouest and the cradle of the breed.
